1. Description of Service

The Illustrator agrees to create a commissioned digital character illustration for the client based off the following tiers selected by the client:

• Illustration Type: Sketch, Inked, Flat Colours, Cel-Shaded, Rendered

• Illustration Size: Bust (8”x10”), Half-Body (11”x14”), Full Body (11”x17”)

• Illustration Background: Textured, Flat Colour, Abstract, Rendered

All illustrations will be completed at the resolution of 350 DPI. It is the client’s responsibility to provide ample written and/or visual reference for the accurate fulfillment of the commission.

2. Service Schedule and Allowable Revisions

The client will be notified if their commission request has been accepted within 2 business days of their application. The start of the commission’s production is dependent on the number of already ongoing commission clients, and will begin according to the current workload. The client will be notified upon the start of the commission.

The client will be given updates, as relevant to their selected tiers, during the sketch phase, inking phase, and flat colour phase. The illustrator will continue working on the commission following approval from the client. If the client has not given approval or has made contact within 5 business days, the illustrator may continue to the next stage of the process.

Upon the start of the commission, each phase of the commission process is allotted 5 business days for completion (sketch, inking, flat colour, and final render), for a total of 20 business days. If the client has not received an update within the allotted time frame, the illustrator shall notify the client of the delay and the remaining time until the phase is complete.

Minor revisions are allowed following each update phase for a total of 3 rounds of minor revisions. The client will be contacted for approval following the revision before proceeding to the next phase. Major revisions at any phase, including the final illustration, may incur additional fees.

3. Date of Completion & Delivery

The client will be notified upon the completion of the commission and will be sent an invoice of the commission and a preview of the final illustration. After the illustration is approved and all outstanding charges have been paid, the client will be sent a JPG file of the illustration by email.

4. Payment

The cost of the commission will be paid according to the options selected by the client, and shall be paid after the client’s commission request has been approved. The commission will not begin until the commission has been paid for. All prices are in USD (United States Dollar).

5. Additional Fees

Additional fees may be applied at the discretion of the illustrator based on the complexity of the client’s commission request. Revisions that are beyond the allotted number or are considered major at the discretion of the illustration will also incur an added fee. The client will be notified of the additional fees before they are applied for confirmation.

6. Refunds

The client may request a partial refund for a commission. The partial refund given to the client will be according to the progress and current phase of the commission.

7. Copyright

The illustrator retains the copyright of all artwork made from a commission. The client retains intellectual property rights of characters represented in a commission.

8. Artwork Permissions

The illustrator reserves the right to publicly display artwork from a commission, digitally or physically. The illustrator may not use the artwork for additional commercial purposes, unless the client breaches the terms of service. The client’s commissioned artwork is for personal use only. The client may publicly display the artwork, digitally or physically. The client will not alter the artwork or use the artwork for commercial purposes. The client may request permissions for commercial use and contact the illustrator to discuss the terms of use and costs.

9. Refusal and Cancellation

The illustrator reserves the right to refuse any commission request with no explanation. The illustrator may cancel a commission due to extraneous factors, and provide a partial refund according to the progress and current phase of the commission. Additionally, the illustrator may cancel a commission and provide no refund and no artwork according to a client’s inappropriate behaviour/actions, and/or if the client breaches the terms of service.
